Our Top 5…
Low Skiing Costs
You can get lift tickets for around $20, especially in the Dizin ski resort. It provides you with unlimited all day access to the mountain and the slopes which is every skiers dream. Compared to other ski resorts in Europe, skiing in Iran provides cheaper skiing overall. If you don’t want to bring your own gear to Iran, you are able to hire out equipment packages for as little as $20 per day from all 3 resorts; Dizin, Shemshak and Darbandsar. We understand that you don’t always fancy carrying your luggage through the airport, so hiring outfits and equipment when you’re at the resort is much easier.
Experience Deep Powder Bliss
As Iran’s resorts are more for advanced skiers, they are quickly becoming the choice for those who like to get away from the crowds and experience breathtaking altitude and the adrenaline inducing terrain. Every year, over 275” of snow falls in Dizin and this allows for numerous natural features and powder. It might be best to prepare yourself for endless peaks, drops, valleys and overhangs. Locals prefer to stick to the marked runs so the resort remains relatively empty during the week which gives other skiers a whole mountain to explore for a few days.
The Hospitality
One of the best parts about any ski trip is the experience, especially when you’re in a resort you’ve never explored before. Apart from the resorts, travellers will be able to find out why Persians are often called the most hospitable people. You will be able to experience their culture, food, history and of course, their slopes and what better way to do that than with people who call it home? Don’t worry if you get stopped in the streets and someone invites you to their home for a drink or food, it’s just their way of welcoming us!
The Unique Experience
If you’re looking for a more exotic ski holiday, Iran is it. It’s a country rich in culture and one that has amazing slopes for you to develop your skiing. The 3 resorts to explore are Dizin, Shemshak and Darbandsar. Shemshak and Darbandsar are a little smaller than Dizin but they boast much more interesting terrain on piste. Dizin’s highest lift sits at an astonishing 3,600m and people often say that Dizin is what the European Alps resorts used to look like, with older infrastructure but that doesn’t stop it from being an experience that will blow you away. Shemshak is the third biggest in Iran, behind Dizin and Darbandsar. The resort is known for hosting some of the most steepest and technical slopes, so it varies in difficulty. There’s also a ski lift that’s dedicated to the beginner area, so the resort suits every type of skier.

Darbandsar is only around 10 minutes from Shemshak and 30 minutes from Dizin. Although Shemshak and Darbandsar are very close to each other, the ski areas are not linked. At the top of the resort, the scenery is truly spectacular with a great view around the Alborz Mountain Range. It offers some slopes for off piste skiing and snowboarding and for the extreme skiers, it’s literally heaven. All 3 of the Iranian resorts have something special to offer and it’s an experience you won’t forget.
